Ages 3-5
Young children LOVE to race, and they love obstacle courses. Scavenger and treasure hunts are their favorite team games. This week, our younger campers will join together to create a magical week of running, jumping, dancing, throwing and seeking. Campers will create two teams, with each designing and painting a flag and team t-shirt. Everyone will get tons of awards - participation IS the game and fun is the goal. Most children this age don't understand competition, and if they do, they tend not to enjoy it. Our wee olympics will focus on everyone winning and having a blast!
Some of our sports will include "horse" racing, search for gold, obstacle courses (including our giant climbing web), tiny hurdles, dance parties, gymnastics and preschool archery (the safe kind!). Our teams just might work on training the ducks to race!
Ages 6-11
Who doesn't love a little farm competition? This week will be filled with traditional competitions and a little bit of outside-the-box fun. Tug-o-war, Capture the Flag, dodge ball and archery are a must, but so is the game in which campers see who can put on 5 frozen t-shirts all at once? Other sports competitions will include the discus throw, relay races, obstacle courses, long jumping, balloon tennis matches, pool noodle javelin throw, "horse" racing, gymnastics and, of course, Quidditch! We are sure the campers will be overflowing with their own ideas as well.
Campers will start the week forming teams and naming them. Each team will have its own flag and t-shirts. We will have an opening ceremony and medals will be awarded along the way. The joy is in the joining!
